Experimental theatre

Following her work on several previous Douglas College Theatre Department projects, director and teacher Deborah Neville returns to direct MoisĆ©s Kaufmanā€™s The Laramie Project, a play constructed from real life testimonies gathered from the residents of Laramie, Wyoming in response to the killing of Matthew Shepard, a local college student who was the victim of a hate killing at the hands of two Laramie residents.

In response to accusations that her policies were ā€œnot inclusive enough,ā€ Douglas College diversity officer Babar Mufasa organized a seminar in the concourse, in which she proposed to alter the Progressive Stack even further to include physical privileges such as height.

On February 23, local Vancouver wordsmith John Vaillant met with creative writing students in Douglas Collegeā€™s Aboriginal Gathering Place to discuss the writing and publishing of his award winning books The Golden Spruce, The Tiger, and The Jaguarā€™s Children.
