Kinder Morgan ordered off Burnaby Mountain
Kinder Morgan sought to extend the injunction keeping protesters off of their Burnaby Mountain drilling sites on November 27. BC Supreme Court ruled that instead, Kinder Morgan was to leave Burnaby Mountain by December 1, and all those previously charged with ācivil contemptā would be exempt.
Pat Quinn passes away at age 71
Former hockey player, coach, and general manager Pat Quinn (1943-2014) passed away on November 23. The Vancouver Giants, who Quinn co-owned, disclosed on their Facebook page that Quinn had been suffering from a ālengthy illness.ā
Vancouver clinic to offer heroin prescriptions
On November 26, Vancouver became the first city in North America to offer prescription heroin to recovering addicts. Trials have taken place since 2011, with permission from Health Canada and delivery from Europe, to test the distribution of prescribed heroin to heavily addicted users.
