On January 10, Douglas College’s men’s volleyball team faced off against the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) Cascades. The Royals, coming into the game atop the PACWEST division standings with an impressive 10 wins and two losses, were looking to further their season’s success and shut the door on one of the only teams to have bested them.

A look at the Canucks’ 2014
By the conclusion of the 2013/14 season, a number of drastic changes had occurred for the Canucks. With new head coach Willie Desjardins taking over and former iconic player Trevor Linden becoming president of Hockey Operations and alternative governor, the Canucks were able to begin the next season with more positive progression.
FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 coming to Canada
Canada will be hosting the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup from June 6 to July 5. The games will take place across six provinces, with the finals being held at BC Place in Vancouver.

Pat Quinn passes away at age 71
Former hockey player, coach, and general manager Pat Quinn (1943-2014) passed away on November 23. The Vancouver Giants, who Quinn co-owned, disclosed on their Facebook page that Quinn had been suffering from a “lengthy illness.”
