Anyone can get published in The Other Press!
Contact any of our editors directly with your story ideas online or at one of our regular collective meetings. When it comes time to submit your story, please send your article as an MS Word .doc file, and include your full name, title, and subtitle. The weekly deadline for contributor submissions to editors is Thursday night by midnight for publication the following Tuesday. Letters to the Editor and “time-sensitive” articles (weekend news, sports, and cultural reviews) will be accepted until Saturday at noon (unless other arrangements have been made).
$50 Feature Stories
The Other Press will pay $50 to anyone who writes an original article of at least 1,000 words in length that gets published in our “features” section. Submit story ideas to the Editor in Chief at editor@theotherpress.ca before submitting your final piece.
*Limit twice per semester, per student.
Rewards for Regular Contributors
For every five issues you are published, contributors receive $50 (feature stories don’t count towards this total). Other perks involve weekly draws, media passes, tickets to movies and plays, free food, and even some swag now and again.
Get Involved
The Other Press holds weekly staff meetings at 6 p.m. on Mondays in room 1020 of the New Westminster campus. All those in the Douglas College community are encouraged and welcome!
