The year 2015 will see a number of tax and fare increases occur in BC throughout the year. Taxes on medical, hydro, and transportation will be raised, as will transit fares.

Former hockey player, coach, and general manager Pat Quinn (1943-2014) passed away on November 23. The Vancouver Giants, who Quinn co-owned, disclosed on their Facebook page that Quinn had been suffering from a âlengthy illness.â
On November 26, Vancouver became the first city in North America to offer prescription heroin to recovering addicts. Trials have taken place since 2011, with permission from Health Canada and delivery from Europe, to test the distribution of prescribed heroin to heavily addicted users.
The November 24 âChild Poverty Report Card,â conducted annually by childrenâs advocacy group First Call, has reported that BCâs child poverty rates place fifth in the country.
