To catch a predator: Men and women

I’d like to address a certain group of men. I’m about to chuck out a scathing criticism, so I have to clear some things up: I am totally on your side. That’s not to say I’m anti-feminist or anything, but even if I understand why women are weary of unknown men approaching them, I truly believe most of you are good dudes who approach women with good intentions (or, at the very least, fully legal intentions).

The ā€˜Blurred Lines’ of artistic plagiarism

There is an old saying by Pablo Picasso that I take to heart every time I work on a creative project: ā€œGood artists copy, great artists steal.ā€ While it might sound like Picasso is supporting the notion of plagiarism, I actually believe he is condoning something different; he is saying that great artists are able to take ownership of their creation, which is inspired by a pre-existing work.

Don’t be a passenger your whole life

Younger generations are no longer putting car ownership as a top priority, and because of that the attitude towards learning to drive or earning a driver’s licence is left idling. Attention to apathy

Mind your own business and stand up for what is right. Those two contradicting sentiments have led to many problems over the years as they’ve supplied fuel for revolutions and weakness towards authorities. We blame children for letting their peers get bullied; yet we punish them for confronting their demons.

Diversify your reading life

Work and school life don’t present a lot of opportunities to explore new literature. But in order to achieve imaginative growth and find new perspectives, we need to read more than instructional documents and textbooks. How though? How can we incorporate stories into our lives after an exhausting day of reading boring material?

Yours, mine, and ours

Our personal time is in many ways the biggest and most valuable commodity. Not only is it the only possession we have that can never be regained, but it’s the only commodity that everyone in the world has an equal amount of. We all have the same number of hours in a day in the end, although the activities we occupy it with and the efficiency in managing it varies.
