‘Only Yesterday’ review

After the release of Studio Ghibli’s When Marnie Was There, it was unknown if Studio Ghibli would ever release another film. While Japan did not get a Studio Ghibli film this year, here in North America Studio Ghibli released Only Yesterday, a lesser known film that first debuted in Japan 25 years ago. It is a hidden gem about growing up and nostalgia.

Somehow, a movie everyone expected to fail still managed to disappoint. It’ll make bank, but that doesn’t change the fact that Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice is the cinematic self-destruction of Zack Snyder.

This means war

With all the hype surrounding the new movie, I thought it was about time that I pick up Mark Millar’s Civil War. Before I begin, keep in mind that the Civil War storyline—the division of the Avengers into two separate warring factions—is actually a plot that’s been redone quite frequently, so this particular one may not act as a word for word script preview of the movie.
