Mindful eating

I am a big time foodie, and I can bet that I am not the only one with strong feelings for food, which is a very natural social behaviour—our social lives are deeply connected with food. Apart from being a basic necessity for life, food is part of our cultures, values, religions, traditions, history, relationships, and memories.

LETTITOR

Friend or foe?

I was recently scrolling through Facebook, late one hungover morning, when I noticed that one of the highest trending topics of the day was ChloĂ« Sevigny saying that Jennifer Lawrence was “annoying” and “too crass.” Looking more into this apparently breaking news, I found that it was a two-second blip in an interview, wherein she was talking about the marketing of movie stars.

HUMOUR

People I can do without: The sequel

It’s common knowledge that 90 per cent of sequels to anything—be it a film, a book, or an article in your school’s paper—are just not quite as good as the originals that spawned them. Sometimes, the sequel in question is acceptable, if still inferior to a noticeable degree; just as often (okay, slightly more often), you encounter a sequel that is so horrific that you envy those existing in another version of reality where it stayed in the depths of hell where it belongs forever (or, at the very least, you try to get a refund).

OPINIONS

To catch a predator: Men and women

I’d like to address a certain group of men. I’m about to chuck out a scathing criticism, so I have to clear some things up: I am totally on your side. That’s not to say I’m anti-feminist or anything, but even if I understand why women are weary of unknown men approaching them, I truly believe most of you are good dudes who approach women with good intentions (or, at the very least, fully legal intentions).
