I’ve never reviewed a traditional manga for Comic Corner before, but now that we’re entering the month of love, I thought it would be appropriate to look at a romantic comedy. Love*Com is adorably fun with a unique sense of humour and a story that’s easy to get into.
It’s no secret that there are sexual harassment laws in Canada. Even for the most basic of burger-flipping jobs there’s a training video or a sub-section in a manual explaining that unwanted sexual advances have no place at the job site. But is that really all that the laws say?
It’s winter, so let’s be honest, our skin may not be in the best condition. To help combat this, I’m coming at you with a doubleheader: a sugar scrub for those chapped lips and a coffee scrub to moisturize and get rid of cellulite. Out of all of these DIY Beauty projects, these two are probably the easiest and least expensive.
It’s getting cold and gloomy, so the best thing to do is sit inside and eat! Or at least I think so. With chilli, no matter what the weather is like, you just feel good eating it. But if you’ve decided to go meatless, you might be scared that vegetarian chilli may not have the same effect.
With the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie and rumours of an upcoming Jem and the Holograms revival, it’s clear that people just can’t seem to get enough of classic cartoons. And nobody has picked up on this better than Netflix.
Narrative-wise, Hawkeye: My Life as a Weapon is a revelation. This book is funny, compelling, and thoroughly engaging. I loved the characters and the entire mood of the graphic novel, which is somewhere between dark comedy and unexpected drama. The only thing that threw me off was the art style, which I think is too simplistic for the complexity of the plot.
Professional face masks or spa treatments can be expensive, and, as students, very few of us have any extra cash to spare. But everyone wants that baby-soft skin that only some mindless self-indulgence can provide.
